Invisalign®: A Comfortable and Convenient Alternative to Braces

Straighten your teeth with clear aligners that are virtually invisible.

Invisalign® is one of the most popular dental appliances in recent years. It is an orthodontic aligner that is made from transparent plastic material and looks pretty much like a mouth guard that athletes wear. Due to its transparent nature, it stays under disguise, and anyone who sees you smiling or talking will not be able to spot it easily.

Why should you choose Invisalign® over braces?

  • Invisalign® is backed by highly advanced technology. Right from the start of the procedure, which is scanning the teeth, till the end of the treatment period, the progress of the movement of teeth can be monitored closely.
  • Invisalign® doesn’t have any metal components such as brackets or wires, which eliminates the chances of getting injured due to the orthodontic appliance.
  • Invisalign® gently pushes the teeth into their appropriate positions.
  • You will not have to compromise on the food you eat during the treatment procedure. Since Invisalign® is removable, you can easily take it off, eat any food, and put it back on. But, make sure to get rid of the food debris from the teeth before wearing the aligners.

Treatment procedure

When you visit us for the initial consultation, the dentist will explain how technologically advanced Invisalign® treatment is. Based on the type of malocclusion and its severity, your candidacy for Invisalign® will be determined. The dentist will scan your teeth using a hand-held scanning device while you comfortably sit on the dental chair. The results of the scan will be sent to our dental laboratory, where the aligners will be fabricated. This may take a few days, after which the dentist will schedule a second consultation.

The next time you visit us, the dentist will hand you the aligners and explain how they should be used and cared for. In brief, you should wear them at all times except when you consume food or any drink. The procedure requires you to wear them every day. You will have to change to a new set of aligners once every two weeks to continue moving the teeth as required. Avoid bringing the aligners in contact with harsh liquids or high temperatures, chewing on them, etc. as their shape can change.
